Noom gets it. And gets you.

You’re an individual, not a statistic. You need a program that’s created just for you—customized to your body, your mind and your life.

Introducing Noom Med, a healthcare program that could help you overcome your body’s biological barriers to weight loss. It combines personalized medical solutions with Noom’s psychological support to make long-term, transformational weight loss possible.

Biology, meet psychology.

Breakthrough medications, like GLP-1s, have revolutionized obesity care. Clinical trials show that for one GLP-1 in particular, participants achieved an average of a 12.4% weight loss at 68 weeks of treatment (vs. placebo). But medication alone can’t sustain weight loss—you need psychology and behavior change to make it last. That’s why our program, Noom Med, pairs our proven psychology-based program with its clinical approach.

Here’s how it works.

YOU’LL GET TESTED FOR CONDITIONS THAT CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN.

Some people, no matter how healthy they eat or how much they exercise, hit a plateau. Others have cravings as soon as they start to lose weight. Why? Biology—specifically, the body’s many hormones and molecules that regulate appetite and weight. When you sign up for Noom Med, the first thing we’ll do is an in-depth evaluation, so you can learn about your body and we can design a custom care plan for you.

WE’LL CONNECT YOU TO A QUALIFIED CLINICIAN.

Noom Med takes personalized care to the next level by offering you one-on-one video calls with practitioners. A strong patient-clinician relationship is essential to Noom Med’s ability to create individualized medical plans—and help you achieve and maintain progress on the journey to better health.

YOU’LL LEARN ABOUT MEDICATION OPTIONS.

Once your Noom Med clinician has reviewed your lab results and medical history, they’ll create a custom care plan that may include prescription medications. These medications have shown promising results*, and our clinicians will work with you to decide if they’re right for you. If medication is prescribed, our care team will help you navigate insurance, fulfillment and refills—as well as any potential side effects.

Frequently asked questions.

Who is eligible for Noom Med?

Noom Med is available to you if you have a BMI of 30 or higher, or greater than or equal to 27 with a weight-related medical condition. Noom Med patients receive a health evaluation by a board-certified physician or a physician-supervised nurse practitioner, including comprehensive lab work. Your clinician will create a custom care plan specific to your concerns, biology and overall health goals. Noom Med’s clinicians follow protocols based on the latest science and current clinical standards of care, and only prescribe medication to those who medically qualify.

How is Noom’s approach different?

We believe the best outcomes combine both biology AND psychology. We think medication can be a powerful tool that can be prescribed by qualified clinicians, but it needs to be paired with long-term behavior change to be sustainable—which is and always has been an underlying foundation for weight loss. And Noom is a leader in behavior change through psychology, offering personalized content, positive support and powerful toolkits for nutrition and exercise—all available via the Noom mobile app, exactly when you need them.

Which medications can be prescribed with Noom Med?

Not every Noom Med patient may want or need medication. However, for those who qualify, multiple prescriptions can be offered, including: Zepbound, Saxenda, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Contrave, Metformin, Bupropion/Naltrexone and Topiramate.

Additional GLP-1 medications available to those who qualify may include Ozempic, Victoza, Trulicity, Rybelsus, and Bydureon. We can also prescribe the GLP-1/GIP medication Mounjaro to those who qualify. We’re continuously expanding this list as clinically appropriate, and in the best interest of our patients.

At Noom Med, patients work with their clinicians to make decisions about medication usage after being fully informed of the risks and benefits. Clinicians may prescribe either FDA-approved or off-label medications with weight loss effects at the individual clinician’s professional discretion. Throughout the treatment, close medical supervision by a Noom Med clinician ensures safe and successful prescription medication use.

Is Noom Med covered by my employer as part of my existing plan?

Noom Med is also available as an employee benefit for employers and payers with Noom for Work.

If I get prescribed medication, do I need to stay on it indefinitely?

Weight loss medications can be a powerful jumpstart for your weight loss journey, helping to optimize your body’s biology. Medications are most effective when combined with behavior change and personalized guidance from a clinician. With the right tools and habits, it can be possible to sustainably maintain weight loss without the need for medication over the long term.
