Your health journey could help change the future of weight care.
We’re launching one of the first real-world studies of its kind — and we’re looking for people like you to be part of it.
Why this study matters
Real science. Real people. Real answers.
GLP-1 medications and digital health programs have shown real promise — but most of what we know comes from controlled lab studies, not everyday life. We want to change that.
The FLOURISH and THRIVE trials are designed to understand how Noom’s health programs affect people in the real world — over a full year, across thousands of participants, using some of the most advanced at-home health monitoring tools available today.
First of its kind One of the first studies to directly measure how microdose GLP-1 programs affect metabolic health markers in real-world participants.
Built around you No clinic visits. No lab appointments. Everything is designed to fit into your life — from home, on your phone, on a regular schedule where you have at least a week to complete all your study activities each month.
Open science Results will be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, making this research available to the broader health care community.
Your data, protected All data is stored securely in HIPAA-compliant systems. Your identity will never appear in any publication or report.
What we’re looking at
We’re measuring more than just weight.
Most weight loss studies stop at the scale. We’re going further — tracking a broad range of health outcomes to understand the full picture of what these programs do for your body and mind.
We are measuring: body weight, body composition, blood sugar, cholesterol, heart rate, sleep quality, energy levels, mood and anxiety, appetite, quality of life, stress markers, and flourishing.
What participation looks like
Simple monthly check-ins. That’s mostly it.
We designed this study to be as easy as possible. Most months, your total time commitment is about 10 minutes. Here’s what you’ll do:
Monthly survey A short online questionnaire about any changes in health conditions or health events and some more general health questions. Most months, about 10 minutes. A few times a year, when you enroll and at 4, 8, and 12 months you’ll take longer surveys about your health, mood, energy, sleep, food cravings, and overall wellbeing. These longer surveys with other study activities take about 30 minutes. A few programs have a check in at 18 and 24 months, we will make sure you know how long your study participation will be.
Monthly weigh-in Step on the connected scale we send you. Your weight is recorded automatically. Done in seconds.
In-app FaceScan and BodyScan Two quick scans using your phone’s camera through the Noom app. Takes a couple of minutes each month.
At-home blood testing A few times during the year, we’ll mail you a Tasso+ kit — a small, FDA-cleared device that collects a tiny blood sample from your upper arm at home. No needles to handle. No lab visits. We mail it to you, you mail it back. Your results are shared with you after each test. This is done when you enroll and at 2, 4, 8, and 12 months.
Depending on which program you’re enrolled in, you may also receive a free wearable fitness tracker and have a few additional monthly check-ins. Your study coordinator will walk you through everything specific to your group.

Common questions
Good questions deserve straight answers.
Do I have to go anywhere in person?
No. Everything can be done from home — surveys on your phone, weigh-ins on your scale, and at-home blood collection with the Tasso kit we mail to you. No clinic visits, ever.
Will participating change anything about my Noom program?
No. You’ll continue your program exactly as normal. Joining the study simply means we’ll check in with you each month and ask you to complete a few health measurements for research purposes.
What if I want to leave the study?
You can leave at any time for any reason — no penalty, no questions asked. Your access to your Noom program will not be affected. However, if you choose to withdraw from the study, you will have to re-sign up for Noom as your program fees will no longer be covered as part of the research study.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. All data is stored in secure, HIPAA-compliant systems. Your name will never appear in any publication, and your information will never be shared with Noom’s marketing or sales teams.
