Overview
A quick guide to help you connect Noom to apps like Apple Health, iHealth, Fitbit, and more — plus tips for syncing data and switching devices.
What to Know
- For the most accurate syncing, complete these steps on your iPhone, not an iPad or another device.
- Using Noom on multiple devices can disconnect the Health app and stop your steps from syncing. We recommend uninstalling Noom from any other devices before getting started.
What to Do
Connecting Noom to Apple Health
Follow these steps from your iPhone (not your iPad).
1. Connect Noom to Apple Health
- Open the Noom app.
- Tap the Profile icon in the top-left corner, then tap Settings.
- Scroll down to Apps & Devices.
- Tap Manage Apple Health.
- Tap Connect next to Sync from Apple Health. This will open the Health app.
- In the Health app, tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Tap Apps, then select Noom.
- Review Noom’s permissions for each data point you want to sync. You can enable or disable Noom’s ability to read and/or write information for each available data point.
2. Select Apple Health as Your Steps Source
Return to the Noom app, then:
- Go to Settings > Apps & Devices.
- Tap Choose Steps Data Source.
- Toggle Health app Steps on.
3. Check Motion & Fitness Permissions
Finally, make sure Noom has permission to access Motion & Fitness data:
- Open your iPhone Settings.
- Tap Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness.
- Make sure Fitness Tracking is toggled on.
- Make sure Noom is also toggled on.
Once you’ve completed these steps, return to the Noom app to confirm your Apple Health data is syncing.
Using Noom Across Devices
⚠️ Note: For the best experience, use Noom on just one device. We recommend deleting the app from any additional devices to avoid syncing issues or potential data loss.
- Noom does not support syncing data across devices.
Need to Know More?
Q: Can I use Noom on my iPad?
A: You can, but functionality is limited (for example, no internal motion sensor for steps). Using both your iPhone and iPad may break Health app syncing.
Q: What data points can sync with the Health app?
A: Noom can read and/or write a variety of data points including:
- Steps
- Weight
- Blood glucose
- Dietary Energy
- Active Energy
- Water
- Mindfulness Minutes
- Exercise/Movement
Note: While certain data points may appear as available permissions in Apple Health, not all programs support features that use or sync with every data point.
Q: My steps aren’t syncing. What should I do?
A: Double-check your selected step data source in Noom. If it’s set to Health App Steps and still not syncing, try toggling to Noom Pedometer and back. Make sure permissions and Fitness Tracking are on.
