Creating a Custom Dish

Adding your own recipes or dishes to the Noom app is easy! All you need to do is use the Custom Dish feature on iOS.

To enter your own meals in the app, please do the following:

  1. In your list of tasks for the day, tap Log your meals
  2. Select the meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack).
  3. Tap My DishesIf you don’t see the My Dishes tab, tap the Add More Items button at the bottom and then it will appear.
  4. Tap Create a new dish
  5. Enter the name of your dish.
  6. Tap Portions prepared and slide your finger left or right across the ruler to select how many portions or servings you made.
  7. Tap + Add Foods below Ingredients
  8. Search and enter all of your ingredients.
  9. Tap Done in the top right corner
  10. On the next screen, you’ll see a list of all the ingredients you entered, along with their amounts. If you miss an ingredient, you can tap +Add Foods at the bottom of the list.
  11. Once all your info has been entered correctly, tap Done in the bottom right corner.
  12. Tap Save in the top right corner.
  13. Tap the name of the dish you just created.
  14. Slide your finger left or right across the ruler to enter how many servings were eaten. Tap Log x (where x is the quantity) to confirm how many servings you ate.
  15. The last screen will show the name of the dish along with the number of servings and calories.
  16. Tap Done in the top right corner to save the dish to your food database.

Note: If you don’t tap Done on the final screen, your dish won’t be saved and you’ll have to enter everything all over again.

You only have to do this once for each recipe or meal you’d like to record. Once you’ve added it to your custom dish section, you’ll be able to easily log it by tapping its name.

Viewing and Editing a Custom Dish

To view or edit the ingredients in your own recipes you entered into the app, please do the following:

  1. Open Noom and tap the Log your meals task card.
  2. Select the meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack)
  3. Tap My Dishes. If you don’t see the My Dishes tab, tap the Add More Items button at the bottom and then it will appear.
  4. Tap the pencil icon to the left of the custom dish you need to view or edit.
  5. Tap on the name of the custom dish, the ingredients, or the serving prepared to view or edit them and make any appropriate edits.
  6. Tap the x to the left of the ingredient name to delete it from the custom dish or + Add Foods to add additional ingredients to the custom dish.
  7. Tap Save in the top right corner when you’re done.

Deleting a Custom Dish

To delete a custom dish, please do the following:

  1. Open Noom and tap the Log your meals task card.
  2. Select the meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack)
  3. Tap My Dishes
  4. Tap the pencil icon to the left of the custom dish you need to delete.
  5. Tap Delete
  6. Tap Yes to confirm the deletion of the custom dish.

Note: Once you delete a custom dish, you won’t be able to log it again in the future unless you create the custom dish again.
