Success Story: Patricia

by | Apr 5, 2017 | Last updated Nov 4, 2022

When Patricia joined Noom’s course, she was not new to the “diet scene.” She had tried low-carb diets, Weight Watchers, and more, and successfully lost weight several times before.

You name it, I’ve tried it! Some very successfully, but never long-term.

But like 80% of people who successfully lose weight, she gained it back each time.

Why? The extremes she had to go to were not sustainable.

You lose weight. You lose interest. And you can only keep it up for 6 months, or maybe even a year.

So what made Noom different?

I feel like this is ‘it’ for me. I love Noom’s philosophy. No foods are off limits, which gives me the flexibility to find foods that satisfy me. The flexibility is so valuable — it means I don’t have any wild cravings and I am never left feeling super hungry, keeping me on track!

Patricia loved working with Coach Laura M.

She’s someone I can reach out to whenever to I have a question, want to get a second opinion, or if I’m feeling stuck. I am learning to be independent and make healthy choices in my everyday life, but I also have someone who’s there to help guide me, support me, and build me up along the way.

Working with her coach and learning about her thoughts, triggers, and habits through the course content has helped her identify her barriers to long-term success, develop sustainable, healthy habits and see real results.

I’m down 22 lbs and counting and the weight is coming off in all the right places.

Not only does she look and feel better, but her health has also improved dramatically. When she visited her doctor in November 2016, her blood pressure was well above the normal range. As of January 2017, her blood pressure was consistently 117/70 — well within the normal range!

[The course] helped me learn so many new things and answer questions I didn’t even know I had!

Patricia’s favorite part of the program is that she has everything in one place. No need to go see a nutritionist every few weeks, keep a written food diary, and look on the internet for information.

I have all the tools I need at my fingertips. I can press a button and at a glance see where I’m at when it comes to meeting my goals.

Patricia also loves being in the driver’s seat. She is not being told to give up bread or run 5 miles every day.

I am in control. I have everything I need at my fingertips. I can lean hard on my coach and course when I have to or take a step back and be more independent when things are smooth sailing. It’s flexible for me!

Congratulations on all of your success, Patricia! We look forward to following you as you continue your journey to better health.
