After giving birth to her first son, Anita wanted to lose the baby weight and make a lasting change in her health.
“I’ve always had a fast metabolism and didn’t used to need to pay attention to what I ate. But after you have a baby, things change. No matter what I did, I couldn’t shake the baby weight.”
When Anita learned about Noom’s Healthy Weight course, she was skeptical.
“Apps can be totally impersonal and superficial, but I decided I had nothing to lose by giving it a go.”
When Anita was paired with Coach Jack, she knew right away that this was much different and Noom was more than an app.
“Coach Jack did an amazing job at understanding my past and uncovering my motivations. He helped me identify my long-term goals and break them down into smaller, realistic goals to help me get there. put them into realistic action plans.”
As Anita went along in the program, her coach was there every step of the way.
“From stress eating to disordered eating habits, Jack helped me really get to the core of why I do what I do. Getting to the root of my habits was so empowering. That’s what you need to do to make a true, lasting change.”
Anita also loves Noom’s color system. When Anita tried Weight Watchers in the past, she was focused on the numbers.
“There are tons of foods that are low in points but not very nutritious for you.”
Noom’s unique color system has been a great educational tool for her to make food choices. Throughout the course, Anita has learned to pay attention the the quality of her food, choosing foods that simultaneously help her lose weight and help her feel energized throughout the day.
“Noom makes healthy eating simple! The color system is a great way to help you learn about what foods you should be eating more of and what foods you should be limiting. It forces you to focus on what you’re eating, not just how much.“
Anita is so happy with Noom’s Healthy Weight course that’s she’s even gotten her husband and sister on board!
Among the shifts Anita’s experienced is a a new found perspective on food.
“I have a much more positive relationship with food. In the past, I used to eat one bad thing and it would turn into a downward spiral. But now, it’s not an all-or-nothing thing. It’s about balancing less nutritious choices with healthier ones — no extremes!”
Anita credits her new healthy mindset to the course curriculum.
“The articles are great! Each week you learn about a different topic to help you work towards your personal goals. I have something to learn about, think about, and put into practice every day. Most recently we focused on mindful eating. That was super helpful to help me really pay attention to my food intake.”
Congratulations on all of your success, Anita! We look forward to following you as you continue your journey to lasting health.
