Picture-taking and Fat Burn Zones: New CardioTrainer and Calorific updates

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

A new version of Calorific is available on the Android Market with a brand-new feature: take pictures of your meals and save them to your history! You’ll notice a camera button on the logging screen, and a small thumbnail will also appear in your daily overview after you’ve taken a photo. We’re hoping that this new feature helps entice you to choose healthier foods since you’ll see exactly what you’ve eaten throughout the day!

New picture-taking feature for snapping photos of what you’re eating.

We’ve also released an update to CardioTrainer with some UI tweaks, as well as a new feature if you’re using the heart rate integration. In the heart rate settings, select “Fat Burn Zone Setup” and then enter your details. During your workout, you’ll hear notifications to speed up or slow down to stay within the heart rate range that optimizes fat burn.

We know it has been a highly anticipated feature for many users for a long time, so please let us know what you think! Here are some screenshots of it in action:

This newest version of CardioTrainer also includes a fix to the permanent account problem that many users have reported, and adds support to back up your weight loss data from Weight Loss Trainer (restoring this weight loss data will come soon). There are also some small fixes to make CardioTrainer Facebook posts visible on the phone (but not if they include a map due to Flash compatibility).

Your feedback is always incredibly helpful, so please let us know what you think!
