We are very happy and excited today to announce a number of major events along our path to revolutionizing wellness and weight loss.  The first is today’s launch of our flagship product, Noom Weight Loss Coach.  This is the culmination of years of research and development in weight loss science and guidance: a digital weight loss coach in your pocket that guides you on the things you should be doing every day, and tracks how you’re doing to continually adjust itself to you.

With the Noom Weight Loss Coach, we are introducing a revolutionary approach: coaching instead of just data entry. Most weight loss apps only offer a system of logging “calories in” (food) and recording “calories out” (exercise), thus emphasizing a calorie deficit at any cost. These products don’t provide any guidance on how to achieve that deficit in an effective and more importantly, sustainable way, and can, in fact, produce unhealthy patterns like rapid weight loss followed by massive weight gain.  The Noom Coach provides guidance and motivation to help you live a healthier, happier life.  Check out our informational video here.

The Noom Coach is a revolution in weight loss and wellness technology, and we don’t use the word revolution lightly.  In fact, to show our commitment to our bold new vision of wellness and coaching, WorkSmart Labs will henceforth be known as Noom Inc.  We believe this will help our partners and all of our 10 million+ customers share in our vision and see where we’re heading.

Fans of WorkSmart/Noom will know that Qualcomm Ventures is one of our strongest supporters and an investor in our latest seed round of fundraising.  So today, we are very happy and proud to announce a collaboration with Qualcomm Life, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm.  This collaboration will make it even easier for our users to access their wellness data from a variety of devices, and to more easily provide data to improve and optimize the weight loss experience.  Qualcomm Life will have a large role in improving global wellness and we are very proud to be partnering on this ambitious endeavor.
