Introducing Noom: The All-In-One Weight Loss, Exercise and Food Tracking App

If you’re a CardioTrainer or Calorific user, try out this new combined experience.
Noom: Weight Loss, Exercise, Food Tracking
When you open Noom, you’ll see three tabs for weight loss, exercise, and food tracking. All you need to do is set up your weight loss plan by choosing how much weight you want to lose, and how often you plan to exercise. Use Noom’s features to get reminders about upcoming workouts, track your exercise, record all of your food intake, and stay within your personalized budget.
Set up a weight loss plan, monitor your intake, and track your progress.
For existing CardioTrainer and Calorific users, many of these features might look familiar, but now they’re conveniently integrated into a single application. You can import your CardioTrainer workout history into Noom by using the permanent accounts feature, and we’ll be adding a feature to let you migrate your Calorific data very soon.
Track your food intake and any kind of exercise.
Our goal is to make is as simple as possible to help you achieve your weight loss goals, and this is our first big step in that direction. For now, we mostly recombined and improved our existing tools, but with your help this will slowly evolve to be much more. Noom is still in beta, so we are very interested in hearing your feedback. What about those of us who bought the Pro version of Cardio Trainer? Should we keep on using that or does this have more to offer?
May 4th, 2011 at 4:59 pm
Does it post your weight to Google Health?
May 4th, 2011 at 6:04 pm
CardioTrainer Pro is fully compatible with Noom. No problems at all!
May 4th, 2011 at 8:46 pm
Wish you could have it available for Windows phone 7. Im using endomondo for out door and would gladly pay for CardioTrainer or Noom if it was available on Windows Phone

I would love to see some basic feature requests in Cardiotrainer being developed before stuff like this, that is of absolute no use for me.
As for example: the HXM puls meter integration in Cardiotrainer as requested by so many of your users already months ago.
or: the possibility to complete rebuilt the track history on a new device (as promised since ages — “we are working on it”).
or: sync of Cardiotrainer between multiple devices
I really do not understand why you dont work on such basic things instead.
What are your priorities?
May 5th, 2011 at 3:54 pm
their priorities are obvious, they seems not interested in users at all,
see for example all the blog, it’s abandoned, full of spam
let me recommend you some much useful and dedicated to users apps, ALSO THIS APPS SUPPORT ZEPHYR HXM
: sportstracker 2.62, endomondo o even run.gps, even myTracks support HxM
forget this app, i’ve not used it in months…

I’m a little disappointed that the Cardiotrainer “Pro” features such as weight loss are now being given away for free so quickly after I paid for them. Not sure if I’ll be too keen to pay for a WorkSmart app in the future.

I believe that avoiding processed foods could be the first step in order to lose weight. They can taste beneficial, but refined foods currently have very little nutritional value, making you try to eat more just to have enough energy to get with the day. If you’re constantly feeding on these foods, moving over to cereals and other complex carbohydrates will let you have more energy while taking in less. Thanks alot : ) for your blog post.

WOW … I downloaded this app on Thursday, I guess right when it came out? I’ve been using it ever since, religoiusly. it works great.
May 9th, 2011 at 8:56 pm
This has become my favorite and most used app on my phone, and I rarely use any apps. I hope you carry on with Noom as a full-featured CardioTrainer Pro integration.
May 12th, 2011 at 8:31 am
I like the combined experience of Noom. Do I need to leave installed on my phone the separate apps for Calorific and CardioTrainer Pro?
May 12th, 2011 at 9:43 am
It would be great to be able to include custom foods – maybe make the food DB available via the web for easier input. I’m on MediFast and would like to include their pre-packaged food, but can’t right now.

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting a ridiculously low calorie allowance when using the Calorific portion of Noom? I scheduled 20 mile bike rides 3 times a week, with a weight loss goal of 10 pounds over the course of 10 weeks, and yet it’s only suggesting I eat 1200 daily. Will this remedy itself when I input my weight more frequently? (weight is 170)?

Have you changed your profile on the calorie part of the app? I thought that too until I realised the generic profile was a 56 year old female at 5′5.
I love this app. It is one of the best ones so far. Discreet as well. I have lost 7 lbs so far
.

I agree with \New user.\ Being able to itemize what you ate (rather than just number of how many calories you consumed) AND custom food option always helps me to count calories. I can go back to the history and see why I should have eaten certain food and vice versa. This app would become totally awesome, combined with the exercise app!

I am 5′ 2″ and started weighing 140lb, my calorie allowance for the day fluctuates between 1600 and 1870. I exercise twice a week doing 2hrs of zumba and 45mins of conditioning. However, this allowance seems a bit high as my friend as myfitnesspal and it gives me an allowance of 1300. Any suggestions as to which is more accurate??

First: Good App!
Second: I miss the option to track the percentage of body fat!

Using the app for a few weeks. Don’t always have my phone when I work out. How can I add my workouts after I have completed them?
August 8th, 2011 at 8:51 pm
I use Noom for logging my bike rides to/from work as well as recreational rides and other types of workouts.
I notice that on my phone the GPS is often lost part way through a ride, and then Noom seems to just give up, and I have a short ride logged. Sometimes very short. Today it was 0.0 miles! It be would much better if Noom kept trying to reacquire the GPS signal and simply interpolated between the known signals. If I’m commuting to/from work I have a good idea how far I’ve ridden and can edit my stats, but on a recreational ride I might have no idea what’s been lost. Since I’m riding, I don’t have the time or inclination to keep checking my phone every little while.
Also, I basically ride the same route to/from work every day. If the signal is lost on one of those, it would be great if Noom could use the data from all the previous rides I’ve done between the points between when the signal is lost and regained to improve upon the above “simple” interpolation. Perhaps you might need to indicate any such interpolated sections in a different color.

Love the app! It is working great as I attempt to reach my fitness goal before my wedding in October. I would love to see a more extensive food database to pull from. I’ve had to download other apps just to find nutrition facts and then enter them in Noom. Perhaps also a few more exercise categories as to which type of exercise you are doing. I enjoy the app and look forward to my results

I love this app! It helps me keep my weight on track, and also count the calories I eat. It helps me a lot when I want to lose a few pounds!

Is it just me, or does the amount of calories you eat in one day, not affect the bars in the \progress\ view? If I eat 500 more calories than I am supposed to one day, it still seems like the progress bar moves up a notch that day, which makes no sense?
October 13th, 2011 at 8:52 am
I love this app, but anyhow I get for tabs instead of three: n trainer, weight, exercise and food. First tab provides internet link. What the problem?

I had been using Noom for 4 months on my Droid phone with minimal issue till today when it dumped my 4 months of workout and went from a nice silver 1600 calorie badge to a big fat 0! I went to back up from the cloud and that feature wasn’t supported on my phone. I was really upset and don’t know if I want to keep using Noom or switch to Calorie Counter!!

hello
a long time ago I used this application but my Android phone broke and I could not repair it. Now I have an iPhone but all health & fitness apps are very bad, and I find your app but does not exist for Apple iOS 5. Please do it!
January 1st, 2012 at 11:52 am
I started my fitness and weight loss effort on November 14, 2011, and have been blogging about it since through saxtreme.com. I downloaded the Noom app and have used it daily for weight, food, and fitness tracking and I like it. It is the best app of all the ones I have tested.
I have some suggestions to add to the app that I think would be great. There are two other key things I track on seperate apps and I think Noom could incorporate these features. One is a Blood Pressure Log — I use BP Log and it is pretty good. I also use BodyFat Log, but when I got to ten entries, then you have to pay for it — kind of sneaky that way — it was the best of the Body Fat logs though. I think that these key measurements are pretty important when working out and losing weight and would make a good addition to the Noom app.
Thanks!
